Act for Breadth, Learn for Truth! GYAP
What is education? Answers to this question have varied widely across time and cultures. Is it about empowering lives, or benefiting humanity? The original aspirations behind education may differ from one another, and as such, there is no one-size-fits-all standard for education. Nor do people wish to see standardized individuals educated, for that would render the world dull and life devoid of novelty. Yet, as scientific principles, theorems, and formulas are imparted through education, knowledge has become standardized, giving rise to the modern form of education: standardized schools, classrooms, textbooks, and teachers and students in school uniforms. In this way, the field of education has become one of the sources of rigidity. Individualization and innovation have lost their vitality. In an era where artificial intelligence is reshaping the landscape of education, an even more closed-off knowledge system will severely diminish the diversity and richness of human life. The unique human traits of emotion and imaginative consciousness risk being stifled or diminished by AI. Therefore, we need to strike a new balance between standardization and individualization.
First and foremost, we need to re-recognize the importance of interpersonal communication for the development of individuality. This may well emerge as a new and promising frontier in education. AI has largely alleviated the inequities caused by the uneven distribution of educational resources, and the speed of knowledge renewal has become breathtakingly fast. Learning is no longer a time-consuming and arduous process, allowing us to set aside more time to expand the space for individual growth. The acceleration of transportation has completely broken down geographical barriers between cities and countries for interpersonal interactions. New knowledge and technologies generated through people-to-people exchanges are expected to surge forth like a tide. The globalization of resources driven by communication will drastically transform the current state of education, reshape the social fabric of the next generation, and ultimately change the world.
Second, the world remains diverse, cultural differences persist, and education systems vary tremendously from one another. AI can never replace the emotional and experiential process of education. Every moment and every teaching context in education is unique. Perhaps it is precisely because of this that the gaps between different cultural entities have not narrowed, but rather continued to widen. Cultural differences among nations still leave the world vulnerable to disputes and even the risk of wars—a scenario that no one desires. We all strive to change this.
The Global Youth Ambassador Project (GYAP) was born in this new era of education, emerging for this new frontier in education and to explore opportunities for an intelligent society. We aim to build a platform for information exchange, interpersonal communication, and intergenerational dialogue through this new global school community, so as to integrate education systems of different countries, pool the latest educational resources and talents, let the blood of innovation flow across the globe, realize the common progress of humanity, and create a future human society rooted in strong friendships between individuals. We hope to establish an independent and mutual-aid exchange system among schools to meet the needs of teachers and students for interaction and mutual visits. Our focus is more sharply on the exchange of educational resources for the youth education stage, and we will participate in and implement educational exchange programs in a more concrete manner. This will address the practical shortcomings of cultural integration and educational innovation that have been overlooked for various reasons, and open up new channels for industries to serve education.
Our primary service targets are primary, secondary, and tertiary institutions. Through the resource exchange among member schools, we strive to maximize the promotion of educational equity and innovation, and provide new educational opportunities for teachers, students, and parents of each member school. Our core value and mission are: to realize the sharing of educational resources and promote educational equity and innovation. Our main programs include online exchanges, mutual visits, short-term study placements, and international exchange camps. Currently, we have established offices in countries and regions such as the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Malaysia, and Hong Kong. Over 300 schools around the world have joined us, with the number growing at a rate of 200 schools per year. More than 100,000 students have participated in the program to date.
Welcome schools from all over the world to join the Global Youth Ambassador Project!
